Original Bronze Sculpture "Van the Steadfast" by Paul Ray Effinger

Van was my third figurative bronze. This was a pivotal sculpture for my foundry, and the last of casting and instruction by Master Founder John Kasson, who helped me technically build my own bronze casting foundry. It's one-of-a-kind and will not be reproduced. Although, I am currently replacing the base with bronze and cherry wood for 2023.

Van was one of my favorite characters portrayed in the Urantia Book. He was a super-human that commanded the local loyal forces, mortal and celestial, against Lucifer, Satan and Caligastia during their rebellion, and remained at the helm until the arrival of Adam and Eve.

The bronze is patinaed with a cold silver formula developed by Ron Young, and lacquered and waxed to create a durable finish.
